What if you could eliminate or reduce chronic neurological conditions just by watching a movie or listening to music?

The amazing technology of Neurofeedback works by aligning brainwaves to a healthy pattern while you are engaged in a movie or music.

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback literally means “brain” and “input”, where the brain is monitored and input is given instantly. Neurofeedback specifically monitors brainwaves, looks for irregularities, then produces a signal that is designed to guide the brain back into a healthy pattern. With repeated exercises the brain sustains this healthy pattern on its own. The brain is better regulated, which can reduce or eliminate many neurological symptoms.

Why Brain Health Matters

Brain health is so important, but we don’t notice it —we take a healthy brain for granted until it’s not there!  The brain is the control center, playing a role in nearly every function of your body.  Critical thinking, imagination, mood, memory, sleep quality, digestion, and regulating hormones are a few of the brain’s important functions.  If your brain isn’t working properly, you will suffer in many ways.  Neurofeedback is an important tool for maintaining brain health.

Neurofeedback is NOT New

It’s been around since the 1960’s. There are decades of research and case studies that document its effectiveness in improving brain health. Advances in computer technology now make it possible to easily administer neurofeedback in our office.

Who Benefits?

In short, almost everyone!

This therapy can benefit those suffering with the following conditions.

  • ADD/ ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic pain
  • Concussion
  • Depression
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Insomnia
  • Memory loss
  • Migraine headaches
  • Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Stoke
  • Tinnitus
  • Vertigo

Neurofeedback can also help your brain achieve peak performance!

If you don’t have major ailments, you can still use neurofeedback–to maximize brain performance.  If you use your brain a lot, why not train it to be its best, the way an elite athlete works to train his or her body?

The therapy occurs in a 2-step process:

Brain Mapping

The first step is to analyze the current state of brain conductivity with a “brain mapping”.  An EEG is performed and recorded to evaluate specific areas of brain wave activity.  The data is analyzed compared to optimal patterns.  From there, a report is generated showing whether you have excess or under activity in various brain areas, and a treatment protocol is recommended to train your brain waves to a healthier pattern.

Retraining Phase

Treatment is technically advanced, but easy on the patient (and provider!).  You get connected to glasses that emit light pulses, electrodes to pick up brain activity, and a computer system that will either play a video or music while you receive therapy.  The system provides audio and visual cues to change timing and activity patterns of your brain.  Each session lasts about 30 minutes.  Twenty sessions are recommended as the starting point.  Some people start to notice improvement after 3-5 sessions.  Those with chronic, severe conditions may require upwards of 40 sessions to gain maximum relief.  The very exciting thing is that once results are obtained the re-trained brain retains the balance it learned.  The results are long-lasting!
